Brilliant University of Arizona professor, Dr. Salim Hariri, has lead droves of students through his training and mentorship via the National Science Foundation (NSF) Center for Cloud and Autonomic Computing (CAC) at the College of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Over time, and through the support of multiple government awarded grants, he has ensured cutting edge strategies for the most current and relevant defense against cyber attacks.
His specialization is autonomic intrusion detection, where he has been awarded several US patents for his technology, which has been tested through rigorous proving grounds within the US Air Force and other third-party security companies.
At Injected Media, I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Hariri locally in Arizona, searching for ways to launch software programs, and presenting to NASA, Computer Science Corporation (CSC), and several military contract organizations. We also worked together briefly on applications to protect nationwide first responder networks and high-risk utility substations.
Professor Hariri has given his life in education and has been recognized for his achievements professionally and academically. As a result, students have gone to great careers in computer engineering, worked at some of the world’s leading computer science firms, and some have become entrepreneurs, championing their own innovative tools and solutions.
His company, Avirtek Autonomic Cybersecurity, continues to win awards, grow in services and products, and is located in Tucson, Arizona.
